Cameron Ocean Adventures is a locally owned and operated tour company located in the small town of Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. Owner Caleb Cameron was born and raised in the Ucluelet/Tofino area. “Growing up in a commercial fishing family we lived, worked and played on the water as we fished for salmon all up and down the coast of Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii – our family was quite literally raised on the water”. These experiences sparked a love for the ocean, nature and the wildlife within it. Now, we have taken this knowledge and experience and turned it into a passion that we can share with everyone aboard our boat. Your crew, Captain Lynette, naturalist Rachel and or Caleb will take you on an adventure full of great stories, good laughs, beautiful scenery and of course searching for whales!
Our tours take place on a 43-foot covered vessel, with indoor and outdoor seating. We limit our capacity to only 14 people, so the vessel is NOT over crowded. We believe in making your experience the best it can possibly be! We also offer binoculars on our tours for all our guests.
The most common whales sighted in the Ucluelet area are gray whales, humpback whales, and the occasional killer whale (orca). On this 3 to 4 hour whale watching tour we will do our absolute best to show you whales, seals, sea lions, sea otters and any other marine wildlife that may be in the area during your tour.
Experience some the best whale watching Vancouver Island has to offer as you step outside Ucluelet’s front door and explore one of the most beautiful places on Canada’s Pacific Coast. Ucluelet boasts some of Vancouver Island’s best whale watching plus breathtaking scenery and wildlife, including the Broken Group Islands within the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
Please note, at Cameron Ocean Adventures we follow all rules and guidelines regarding safe viewing distance with marine wildlife in their natural environment as we are nature’s guests. We do our very best to have a successful whale watching tour, but cannot always guarantee sightings. Our success rate is generally around 90% or better, as we work very closely with all local tour companies for whale reports to maximize our chances. Book now, then grab your camera and come onboard for an adventure to remember!
